Up and Coming Arts and Letters Competition
Well I don't have a piece to post today but i am going to get back into the swing of things with my work this year....I was just sitting here at my desk and realized the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and letters competition was approaching very quickly...I have decided to submit MIDNIGHT GARDEN...everyone keep your fingers crossed that I at least place in the show again this year but winning one of the $1000.00 prizes would be sweet as well...:) Submission deadline is February 6, 2009 and all the details can be found at www.gov.nl.ca/artsandletters for all my artists friends in Newfoundland who want to submit something.

Happy New Year!
For my first piece, of the new year,I wanted to do something that was free flowing and gestural. I wanted to keep it loose and not get caught up in the details. Gestural painting per say. This shape is one that can be found in most of my abstract pieces. For those who haven't had a conversation with me about, would not know that this shape represents sperm. For me it is the ultimate symbol of life and creation.

This is a portrait of my brother's dog, Ginger. This was my first attempt at doing an animal and much harder to do then one would expect. I tried not to overdue it and get caught up in doing every strand of hair. This will be framed and become a Christmas present for my brother. Merry Christmas!!!!
