"Ogle: The Painting" Acrylic

Acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas
16 x 20
Another drawing turned painting. I did the original drawing a few years ago when I lived in South Korea. This one was fun to do. The bright, bold colors on the left contrast the earth tones on the right. I laid all the background color with a palette knife. The "eye" on the left I used a number 2 flat. The sperm on the right appears as if they are just about to swim out of sight to destinations unknown. I think the juxtaposition of the two objects fit well together even though they are quite different.

"I Think I can: The Painting" acrylic fine art on canvas

For Sale By The Artist

Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
24 x 36
This is another drawing turned painting. In this painting the use of bold colors such as red and blue and the earth tones of brown and green help to create an even contrast. I have included three different plains of perspective in order to create depth and movement throughout the piece. As for subject matter, I have once again used the flow and travel of sperm as they try to vie for life and creation. The red obviously represents blood and the female reproductive cycle. Without blood there would be no life. I used a palette knife to lay down all the background color and I used a small brush for all the black detail work. It is a fairly large piece for me but it was nice to go big for a change.

"Mesa Fronts" acrylic silkscreen print with india ink drawing

Brush and ink on acrylic silk screen print
16 x 18
I found a stack of old silkscreen prints from my fine arts school days. I was going to throw them out until I realized they would make a great foundation for new art pieces. The prints focused on Crop Circles and in the print there is a word associated with the occurrence. Mesa Fonts is one explanation given to explain how crop circles may occur. Using this as a foundation I incorporated a black India ink brush drawing on top to add an extra dimension to the print. I hope you like my recycling of my old art work!!!!

Pen, Brush and Ink on Stonehenge Paper
11 x 18
I think the title really says what this represents to me. Fragments of thought. As i work through a piece feelings and ideas change. This can be chronicled through any work of art by an artist. For me when I look at one of my pieces I can see where I started and where I ended and all the ideas in between.
